Dr. Kailash Gulshan is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow to perform research related to role of inflammation in progression of cardiovascular disease (CVD), specifically investigating role of NLRP3 inflammasome pathway in CVD. Dr. Gulshan's lab is located in the Department of Cardiovascular & Metabolic Sciences in Cleveland Clinic’s Lerner Research Institute. The project noted above is funded by the NIH-NHLBI. Highly motivated individuals with a strong background in inflammation, lipid/cholesterol metabolism, and atherosclerosis are encouraged to apply. Applicants must be recent Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D in biological sciences with a strong publication record, proficiency in English, and the ability to design and execute experiments independently Prior experience in mouse models of hyperlipidemia and atherosclerosis, ABC transporters, protein expression and molecular biology, lentiviral based systems of nucleic acid delivery, and expression of exogenous proteins is preferred. Individuals with additional experience of mouse breeding, genotyping, flow cytometry, lipid biochemistry, qRT-PCR, and Crispr-Cas9 mediated genome modification are strongly encouraged to apply.
