Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a Principal Management Assistant for the department of Medicine at the Robert Wood Johnson Medical School.
The Principal Management Assistant provides advanced, diversified and confidential administrative and management support within a department or executive office of the University. Exercises considerable discretion and independent judgement. Coordinates projects, correspondence, reports, and fiscal procedures for the department. Supervises administrative and secretarial support services. Maintains Residency and Department websites to ensure websites are populated with up-to-date and accurate information at all times.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Create and maintain all aspects of the Department’s independent website, which specifically spotlights the department’s education/training programs and initiatives.
Responsible for all aspects of department’s Annual report (including coordinating divisional overviews, photography, layout, final production and distribution).
Develops, maintains and oversees the Department’s research and grants database.
Supervises the activities of the secretarial and clerical staff. Recommends the hiring, firing, promoting, demoting, performance evaluations, transfers and/or disciplining of employees, as well as other personnel actions according to University policies and procedures.
Maintains time and attendance records, and coordinates schedules; conducts personnel evaluations in a timely manner. Interacts with the Department of Human Resources regarding personnel matters.
