Job Description

Saint Louis University, a Catholic, Jesuit institution dedicated to student learning, research, health care, and service, invites applicants for multiple open-rank non-tenure-track (NTT) faculty positions in computer science to begin in August 2023. The Department of Computer Science supports bachelors, masters and doctoral programs in computer science and closely related areas such as artificial intelligence, bioinformatics, data science, and software engineering. The department seeks candidates for multiple NTT faculty positions at the level of Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor. NTT faculty members are expected to teach a diverse portfolio of inclusive classes at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Our department sees our NTT faculty as equal partners with a teaching specialization — current NTT faculty have been successful in grantsmanship, department leadership, and administration. Candidates with expertise in computer science or a closely related field are encouraged to apply. A doctoral degree is preferred but not required.

We are accepting excellent applicants from all areas of computer science, and are especially interested in hiring in the areas of software engineering, data science, human-computer interaction, theory of computation, ethics, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. We also seek to augment our existing strengths in the areas of algorithms, bioinformatics, computer vision, human computer interaction, machine learning, security/privacy, computer systems, and networking.

Covid 19/Booster Vaccination Requirement:

Saint Louis University requires COVID-19 vaccinations and a booster dose for all students, staff, and faculty who are physically present on our St. Louis campuses.
