Job Description

Summary

The Dan L. Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center (DLDCCC) has an immediate opening for a Senior Research Administrative Associate. This Senior Research Administrative Associate is part of the growing research administrative team for a busy NCI designated Cancer Center. Will support internal and external grants across the college from pre award to post award processes and activities. This support includes, but is not limited to managing, maintenance, and monitoring grants in various stages of implementation and budgeting.

Job Duties

  • Review and approve grant applications, certify summary data in the College's electronic Biomedical Research and Assurance Information Network (BRAIN) on behalf of the department.
  • Contribute and lead the development and continuous improvement of the pre-award and post award grants management process.
  • Review and analyze current protocols, faculty-staff communication, and quality of the submission process.
  • Consult with faculty regarding existing, new, and future funding opportunities, eligibility, and application requirements for sponsored funding.
  • Must be able to contribute to the strategic efforts and lead implementation for pre-award and/or post award grant activities and programs.
  • Provide timely reporting and monitoring of grants/awards/budgets.
  • Contribute to annual budget preparation as well as all monthly/quarterly/biannual reporting processes.
  • DLDCCC liaison between DLDCCC, BCM, national (private & federal) agencies and institutions.
  • Maintain and ensure compliance with all grants and budgetary protocols.

 

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree.  Certified Research Administrator certification through the Research Administrators Certification Council (RACC) may substitute for the degree requirement.
  • Four years of relevant experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Professional, organized and proficient in reporting to work with faculty, directors, and PIs.
