Job Description
Responsibilities:
- Provide relaxation massage services to patients, answer calls and schedule patients as designated.
- Clean and sanitize rooms and equipment according to sanitary guidelines and regulations before and after every patient.
- Break down or set up rooms as required. Performs patient needs assessments and evaluate patient satisfaction.
- Counsels and trains patients in use of prosthesis.
- Cross cover patient services.
- Other duties as assigned.
Education:
- Graduate from an accredited program resulting in a Diploma or Degree in Massage Therapy or similar field leading to licensure required.
Certifications:
- Successful completion of State Medical Board Massage Therapist License or successful Certification/completion of State Medical Board Esthetician License of Cosmetology with a Massage Certificate, or similar licensure required.
- Certificate in Reiki preferred.
Work Experience:
- Minimum 2 years in patient focused environment.
- Theoretical and practical knowledge of the fundamentals of massage therapy.
- Demonstrates effective communication and interpersonal skills to interact with patients, family members, nursing team, physicians and other hospital support staff.
Physical Requirements:
- Requires standing and walking for extended periods of time; must lift and carry items weighing up to 25 pounds.
- Requires normal or corrected hearing and vision to normal range.
- Requires some exposure to communicable disease or body fluids.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
