Role Summary

As the Director of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Business Partner at Pfizer, you will play a critical role in driving and executing the company's DEI strategy, fostering an inclusive culture, and championing diversity initiatives across multiple business units. You will be responsible in partnership with the business to develop and customize “Fit-For-Purpose” DEI plans for each business unit that feeds into the larger DEI strategy. Reporting to the Global Chief Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Officer, you will collaborate closely with business leaders, HR partners, and other key stakeholders to develop and integrate tailored best in class DEI strategic plans and principles into all aspects of the organization, further strengthening Pfizer's commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace that positively and measurably affect the culture, team, and colleague experience in support of the strategic business goals and fit for purpose.

Role Responsibilities:

Develop and Implement DEI Strategy:

  • Partner with senior leaders, including but not limited to Legal, Comms, and other key stakeholders, to define and execute a comprehensive DEI strategy aligned with Pfizer's overall business goals.
  • Drive the development and implementation of measurable goals, action plans, and initiatives to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across the organization.

Business Partnership:

  • Act as a strategic partner to business leaders, providing expert guidance and support to embed DEI principles into business strategies, practices, and decision-making processes.
  • Collaborate with HR partners to ensure that DEI objectives are integrated into talent acquisition, development, retention, and succession planning efforts.
  • Consult with leaders on fostering an inclusive culture, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing strategies to address systemic barriers and biases.

Diversity and Inclusion Training and Education:

  • Partner with L&D to develop and deliver comprehensive training programs, workshops, and resources to increase awareness, knowledge, and skills related to diversity, equity, and inclusion topics.
  • Provide guidance and support to business leaders in implementing inclusive practices, mitigating bias, and promoting cultural competency.

Metrics and Analytics:

  • Establish and maintain metrics and analytics to track progress and measure the effectiveness of DEI initiatives.
  • Regularly report on key DEI metrics to senior leadership and other stakeholders, identifying trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.

External Partnerships and Engagement:

  • Represent Pfizer externally in industry forums, conferences, and networks focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion.
  • Build relationships with external organizations and community partners to enhance Pfizer's diversity and inclusion initiatives and promote Pfizer as an employer of choice.

Requirements

  • 10 years experience including 5+ years of experience in HR, Diversity and Inclusion, or related areas, with a strong focus on driving DEI strategies in large and complex organizations.
  • Deep understanding of diversity, equity, and inclusion principles and best practices, along with knowledge of relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Proven experience partnering with senior business leaders and driving change within a matrixed organizational structure.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to lead and execute multiple initiatives simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and build relationships at all levels of the organization.
  • Analytical mindset, with the ability to leverage data and metrics to drive insights and inform decision-making.
  • Ability to manage work effectively across multiple teams in a dispersed team environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Diversity, Equity & Inclusion Certification.
  • Change Management Certification & Practitioner.
  • Project management, conference, and sponsorship engagement experience.
  • Demonstrate ability to evaluate DEI program effectiveness and provide recommendations for continuous improvement.
  • Experience leading large complex projects from conceptualization to implementation.
  • Skills and experience in analyzing and diagnosing business problems to identify root causes.
  • Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and capabilities including: the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $144,900.00 to $241,500.00. In addition, this position offers an annual bonus with a target of 20.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program. Benefits offered include a retirement savings plan, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, paid caregiver/parental and medical leave, and health benefits to include medical, prescription drug, dental and vision coverage in accordance with the terms and conditions of the applicable plans. Salary range does not apply to the Tampa, FL location.

Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and/or eligibility.
