Duties and Responsibilities:
- Serving as PDSO & RO, provide dynamic and innovative leadership for all operations, policies, procedures, and staff of International Services.
- Coordinate all international services for arriving, current, and post-graduation (OPT) international students and scholars, including pre-arrival, arrival, orientation, status maintenance, tax resources, mandatory safety and conduct trainings, and other informational trainings as requested by students, scholars, and/or the university community.
- Advise international students, visiting/short-term scholars & their respective dependents, and the campus community on all matters relating to successful maintenance of non-immigrant student & scholar status. This includes being knowledgeable of federal laws and regulations that apply to international students, scholars and faculty (with specific emphasis on F and J students & scholars).
- Assign and review work and schedules for professional and classified staff, ensuring a strong focus on a high level of hospitality, customer service, and cross-campus collaboration. Make recommendations in all areas related to supervision (including but not limited to interviewing and selection, discipline, performance appraisal, and professional development).
- Advance the mission, vision, and strategic priorities of International Admissions & Services and Enrollment Planning & Management. Represent the division of Enrollment Planning and Management through campus communities, initiatives, and events.
- Pursue regional and national involvement in international services professional organizations.
- Advocate on behalf of international students and scholars with local, regional, and federal government agencies.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
