Cellular Therapy Medical Technologist (Stem Cell Bone Marrow Transplant)

The successful candidate:

  • This is a PRN position located onsite.

  • Areas of Experience desired:Stem Cell, Bone Marrow Transplant, Hematology, Chemistry, Coagulation, Molecular testing, Serology, Immunology, Infectious disease testing, Clinical Microbiology, Biochemistry, Andrology, Endocrinology, Urine Analysis and Blood Banking

  • Independently performs complex, highly specialized, and time sensitive procedures on cellular therapy products to include receipt, processing, testing, labeling, storing, inspection, and release of cellular therapy products for thawing and bedside infusion. The CT/MT is responsible for aseptic handling of cellular therapy products and for maintaining product chain of identity and custody from receipt to final disposition for infusion.

  • Maintain accurate and complete documentation of procedures performed; ensure compliance with applicable regulations and accreditation standards such as cGMP, cGTP, and FACT.

  • Performs complex and highly specialized cellular therapy procedures, tests, and analyses.

  • Ensures that all laboratory tests are performed in accordance with standard operating procedures, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and Commercial CAR T manufacturers’ procedures

  • Maintains the use of automated and computerized instruments including recognition of instrument malfunction and resolution with appropriate corrective actions.

  • Evaluates results of Quality Control procedures and implements corrective action when indicated.

  • Evaluates the validity of test results; understands clinical implications; notifies primary caregiver of critical test results.

  • Documents and maintains the appropriate records required by the hospital and laboratory accrediting agencies, HSCT/CT Quality Management System procedures, accreditation standards, regulatory requirements, and Commercial CAR T manufacturers’ procedures

  • Develops and maintains current procedure and policy manuals based upon defined accrediting agency standards.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Prefer a minimum of 2 years experience in a cellular therapy laboratory setting; or a minimum of four years in clinical hematology or blood bank setting preferred. Bone marrow and/or stem cell processing, blood banking, hematology, cell culture and apheresis preferred.

Education Requirements

  • Requires Degree in Medical Technology or equivalent. (BS Degree in Medical Technology or Clinical Laboratory Science; Associate Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology with MT certification.

Required Licensure and Certification

  • Certification required (ASCP, AMT, AAB ).

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $27.76 - $45.67 / hour
