ROLE SUMMARY

The Hospital Buyer Decision Support (HBDS) Lead for the US Hospital Business will lead the HBDS team, while working closely and collaboratively with the US Hospital Commercial Lead, US Sterile Injectables & Ig & Surgical Care Portfolio Leads/Teams, Sales, Trade, MarCom, Customer Facing Strategy & Operations, Account Management, and US Hospital LT, as well as with key cross-functional business partners including Finance, PGS, USMA, Regulatory, etc. The HBDS Lead will report to the US Hospital Sterile Injectables Lead and be a member of the US Hospital LT.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead the Hospital Buyer Decision Support Team to deliver effective analytical and strategic support to the Portfolio Leads on pricing, RFPs, short and long-term forecasting (e.g., supply issues, tradeoffs), and market trends
  • Advance the team’s capability to evaluate and make recommendations based on market conditions (e.g., competitive entry, supply shortage, key pricing changes, etc.), contracting strategies, and identification of new sales opportunities of new and existing products with key customers
  • Invest in the development of the team, to ensure that Sterile Injectables and Ig & Surgical Care product level business decisions are supported by robust, comprehensive, and insight driven analytics, led by talented, capable, and collaborative colleagues
  • Support US Hospital Leadership Team, including leading development of Operating Plan and LE’s, thought partnership, and other core business operation activities, as necessary
  • Support the development and implementation of strategic and operating plans/LE’s, in partnership with US Commercial Lead, Portfolio Leads, Finance, and Account Management
  • Lead the development, implementation, and oversight of a modernized process for capturing, tracking, and analyzing US Hospital and Portfolio activities related to performance, contracting opportunities, and pricing decisions, as well as for senior management updates (e.g., dashboards, etc.)
  • Play a leadership role in US Hospital related strategic initiatives,  within US Hospital and across Pfizer
  • Lead Business Excellence colleague to enhance and/or redesign key operational processes, with an eye toward driving great effectiveness and efficiency
  • Support the Portfolio Triad/Quad teams with process development to ensure optimal demand planning, distribution, customer supply logistics, and S&OP operations in collaboration with PGS, Portfolio Management, and Account Management Teams
  • Engage and inspire colleagues to generate commitment to the business deliverables and drive the creation of a culture required to support short and long term success

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • 15 years of broad pharmaceutical experience (sales, marketing, operations, contracting, finance, project management); US commercial experience preferred.
  • Excellent strategic, analytical and verbal/written communication skills a must, including business maturity to manage confidential information and gain credibility with senior management
  • Demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects with a wide-ranging group of constituents, with a proven track record of being able to prioritize and achieve successful outcomes.
  • Takes initiative, works proactively, ability to multi-task and meeting tight deadlines. Self- starter with ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively navigate ambiguity (high learning agility), develop a path forward and successfully execute to drive results.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $205,400.00 to $342,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
