Collaboration with university faculty, Burris educators, pre-service teachers, other professional staff and administrators to address instructional and/or classroom challenges, effective communication with parents and guardians along with strong classroom management and supervision are needed to support the vision and mission of the school.
Minimum Experience:
Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from an accredited institution by date of appointment; hold or demonstrate eligibility for Indiana teaching certification in Elementary Education. At least one semester teaching, or student teaching experience in an elementary school.
Preferred Experience:
Master’s degree in elementary education from an accredited university. At least three years of experience teaching at the primary level; evidence of knowledge and skill in using educational technologies; evidence of knowledge and skill in working effectively with children with special needs and/or high ability.
