** Hybrid Work Schedule – 3 Days Onsite in Duarte, CA **

As a successful candidate, you will:

The Data Center Administrator is responsible for oversight of daily operations in a production data center environment. This individual will lead efforts that ensure the 24x7x365 operational stability of the data center and maintain the health of production IT infrastructure. Through a deep understanding of power, cooling, maintenance, service/support, disaster recovery, backup processes, this person will fulfill the role of maintaining a stable and survivable production data center environment. Creates processes that respond to service outage fault determination, alarm/event correlation, severity, coordination of triage, and incident resolution. Evaluates reports on performance measures (graphs, dashboards, et al) responding to alerts as prescribed in response procedures. Escalate issues to management and technical specialists when resolution is not immediately obvious or the documented procedures do not resolve the issue.

  • Supervise daily operations related to maintaining and highly available data center. Responsible for reviewing environmental / monitoring data, and maintaining stable computing infrastructure.
  • Maintains a current asset inventory of servers, storage, network devices, peripherals, environmental systems, and rack elevations. Monitors resource utilization for all related in-service systems.
  • Maintains service / support contracts and schedules preventative maintenance for data center systems. Creates process and routinely tests disaster recovery capability of emergency and backup systems.
  • Ensures a stable computing environment and continuously observes and recommends improvements in the operation of all production systems.
  • Researches error messages and may manipulate production controls in accordance with standard procedures to rearrange sequence of job steps to continue operations when individual units of the system malfunction.
  • Reports daily runtime changes that could indicate processing or application problems to appropriate individuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your qualifications should include:

  • 5 – 7 years experience in a similar function administering 24x7x365 operational data centers and production systems surveillance. The ideal candidate will have background serving in a data center, NOC, Service / Call Center, or Telecom Central Office (CO) capacity.

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $34.64 - $53.70 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
