As a successful candidate, you will:

The Manager of IT Infrastructure is responsible for server, storage environments, and end user device technical design and configuration standards across the organization. This position directly oversees the end user device engineering, and application hosting infrastructure teams. The Manager of IT Infrastructure works closely with other managers to ensure that IT systems are supporting and promoting the vision of the organization, specifically as it relates to the availability, integrity, resiliency and security of mission critical systems and services.

  • Provides vision for the structure and discipline of IT infrastructure required for a growing healthcare system
  • Responsible for optimizing the infrastructure budget through the use of internal and external resources
  • Creates policies and procedures for system administration, software and hardware access, and identity management
  • Ensures compliance with industry cyber security and architectural standards
  • Responsible for the strategy and documentation of network configurations
  • Responsible for project teams of 20+
  • Manages up to a $8M operational department budget
  • Supports the development and execution of an enterprise-wide disaster recovery and business continuity plan.
  • Schedules and budgets maintenance and upgrades for optimum operational performance of hardware and software
  • Provides strategic and tactical planning, development, evaluation, and coordination of the information systems
  • Facilitates communication between business and IT leadership to ensure that IT delivery aligns with business strategic objectives and priorities
  • Participates in the identification, development and communication of new technology standards and best practices as appropriate
  • Oversees contract negotiations for software and hardware licensing
  • Contributes to annual planning, management, and review of budgets
  • Partners with assigned vendors to build effective relationships and collaborative team environments; manage vendor contract SLA’s to achieve established goals, and provides recommendations for enhancing vendor relationships
  • Seasoned IT professional with skills in all areas of IT Infrastructure including capacity and high availability planning, implementation, and management.
  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex IT projects within the healthcare industry or other industries with similar 24/7/365 mission critical high availability requirements.
  • Expert knowledge of industry best practices for asset management
  • Extensive networking experience as it relates to strategy, planning, purchasing, maintenance, and monitoring
  • Experience managing projects with core teams of at least 10 professionals, specifically system administrators
  • Expert in hosting solutions both internal and external
  • Capable of developing enterprise infrastructure requirements based on business strategy
  • Knowledgeable in cyber security threats and prevention strategies.
  • Experience in application systems performance monitoring
  • Experience is building hybrid cloud ecosystems seamlessly integrating on-premise data center infrastructure with infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) cloud providers.
  • Experience with building infrastructure and networks to support high performance computing and big data collection and analysis.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Your qualifications should include:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Experience preferred.
  • 6 years of work experience
  • 1-2 years of Healthcare experience

Salary / Pay Rate Information:
Pay Rate: $61.23 - $102.25 / hour

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
