Job Description
The Department of Surgery, Surgical Oncology Division is seeking a Laboratory Research Technician for a pancreatic cancer laboratory with a focus on translational research, which includes culturing and expanding T cells and organoids from pancreatic tumor tissue. The incumbent will collect patient samples and process human blood and tissue samples for freezing and/or scientific studies. They must be able to work with mice and rats and learn to perform medication administration, survival surgeries, and specimen collection (blood and tissue).Job Summary
Performs a variety of independent laboratory work and experiments such as determining experimental protocols and preparation of specimens and cultures. Prepares reports of findings subsequent to compilation and analyzation. Oversees specimen inventory. Develops documentation for publication; crafts manuscripts and grant proposals.
Essential Functions
Writing, speaking and reading English required; excellent computer/database skills.
Physical Effort
Frequent standing and walking. Lifting of laboratory supplies.
