Job Description

The People Experience (PX) / Human Resources Manager is responsible and accountable for ensuring the delivery of human resources activities for the colleague grouping/business areas they support.  As part of a small UK IDM Biopharma focused team, the PX Manager will work closely with PX Senior Managers and the PX Lead to ensure that programs and processes are delivered and are aligned with business and People Experience strategies.  This includes delivering/managing annual processes (e.g., performance management, compensation cycle), managing career events in the employee lifecycle from on-boarding through off-boarding and launching new programs aligned with PX strategy.  There will be strong focus on organisational change and employee relations, and responsibility also for advising and coaching managers, ensuring appropriate controls and compliance, including in relation to immigration requirements, are in place.

Primary Duties:

  • Provide coaching to managers and colleagues on PX processes, policies and programs, driving utilisation of on-line and Service Centre tools
  • Coach managers and colleagues through organizational change, supporting any requirements for consultation, including preparation of agendas for and attendance at Colleague Forum meetings, in support of the PX Lead and Management Chair
  • Support management in facilitating an effective employee relations environment and a performance culture by providing advice and counsel, including but not limited to, conducting or overseeing employee relations investigations and providing analytics
  • Oversee scheduled review and implement changes to documentation, processes, procedures and policies in line with Pfizer initiatives and legislative requirements in partnership with the Senior PX Managers, PX Lead and Pfizer Colleague Service Centre
  • Provide manager coaching on career event management (i.e., transfers, promotions, international moves, etc.)
  • Support the annual performance (PLI) and compensation processes in alignment with country practices (eg calibration, reporting, and performance/pay differentiation)
  • Lead benchmarking activities, prepare market data reviews for locally needed activities, conduct HRIS comp data audits and be country contact for compensation cycle system queries
  • Assist colleague groupings/business areas in the annual execution of standard colleague growth processes and tool/materials usage
  • Provide performance management coaching to managers throughout the year including semester reviews and growth journey planning
  • Provide coaching on performance improvement, including job performance and capability, as required support to managers
  • Be the subject matter expert and point of contact for immigration and visa process management, liaising with Global Mobility and immigration vendors

Training & Education Preferred:

  • Relevant degree or equivalent such as Member of Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development (Level 5)

Prior Experience Preferred

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver in a client-facing human resources role, that involves advising, coaching and facilitating line management and leadership teams on generalist human resource issues
  • Solid expertise in HR technical proficiencies and core HR competencies with experience in coaching, employee development and driving process improvements
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a matrix team environment
  • Flexible and committed approach to delivery with the ability to handle multiple priorities
  • Evidence of excellent teamworking and relationship management
  • Project management, facilitation and complex problem-solving skills, along with strong process skills
  • A strong sense of business ethics including the ability to appropriately handle confidential information
  • Ability and willingness to execute initiatives in a timely manner with high quality
  • Strong business acumen
  • Strong leadership, integration, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Experience in systems use, standard IT packages and HRIS
  • Experience in performance management, process management, coaching and mentoring
