Position Description:

The Department of Philosophy invites applications for a one-year, renewable, non-tenure-track term assistant professor position, appointment beginning August 1, 2024.

AOS: Open

AOC: Open

Teaching responsibilities include both undergraduate and graduate courses; normally seven classes per academic year, but no more than 2 preparations per semester, and class sizes typically between 30 and 45. Minimum starting salary $50,000. Summer and winter teaching may be undertaken for additional pay. Candidates should be willing, with department support, to meet the department’s commitment to integrate the contributions of nonwhite and non-male philosophers, and non-Eurocentric philosophical traditions, into every course.

All requirements for the Ph.D. must be completed by June 30, 2024. (ABD candidates may be hired but would have the rank of Instructor and earn a lower salary until completion of the PhD.) Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States by August 1, 2024.
