Summary
The Department of Pediatric in the section of Hematology and Oncology is currently seeking an Assistant Professor (Hospitalist).
Scope of practice:
- The preferred candidate is a physician who has completed a Pediatric Hematology-Oncology fellowship. This candidate would be hired at an Assistant Professor rank. Alternately a physician who has completed a General Pediatric or Internal Medicine-Pediatric residency could be considered and would be hired at an instructor rank.
- Works as part of a multidisciplinary team to manage inpatient care of Hematology/Oncology patients. Attends to patient/nursing needs on admitted inpatients as well as assists with new admissions.
- May also be called to Emergency Department to assess patients.
- Oversees junior level personnel including residents and advanced practice practitioners.
- Supervises care they provide and provides education.
Minimum Qualifications
- MD or equivalent degree.
- Preferred: Board certified or board eligible for Pediatric Hematology-Oncology boards.
- Alternate: Board certified or board eligible for General Pediatric boards
- Prior to employment start date must obtain Texas Medical License and Drug Enforcement.
- Administration registration.
