The Office of Research and Sponsored Projects (ORSP) safeguards and advances U-M's research enterprise by providing its partners with efficient pre-award and non-financial post-award services for the compliant administration of externally sponsored grants, contracts, and ancillary agreements. This position will report to the ORSP Assistant Director, Operations and Administration. Under general direction, the Business Operations Support Team member will provide dynamic support for daily operations, including Communications, Training, Project Management, and Business Intelligence. This role requires exercising considerable discretion and independent judgment, and the ability to analyze complex information requests and determine intricate trends. The ideal candidate will have a high school education or equivalent and more than four years of relevant experience.

Communication and Marketing Coordination
Website Content Management
Email Campaign Development
Copywriting and drafting of reference documents
Basic Design Support
Assistance with intra-office communication (newsletters, forms, surveys, etc.) and record keeping/maintenance
Editing, proofreading, and quality analysis
Training Support
Proofreading training materials
Basic design support
Administration
On site event logistics (monthly)
Scheduling/calendar management in Google Calendar, meeting polls. etc.
Assistance with hiring processes, including scheduling meetings and interviews, preparing documents, professional and efficient communication with the leadership team, Hiring Managers, committee members, and candidates
Facilities management support
Assist with management and organization of Google Drive and internal office resources
Update email groups and membership in MCommunity, intra-office lists and as needed elsewhere
Event Planning:
Work with teammates to coordinate logistics for internal and external events, such as large group meetings, workshops, conferences, and seminars. This includes venue selection, catering arrangements, materials preparation, and attendee management.
