Job Description

Summary
The Database Analyst/Programmer Sr / Inter will support the Department of Radiation Oncology, working closely with faculty leading development of our departmental learning health system infrastructure named the Michigan Radiation Oncology Analytics Resource (MROAR). They will provide support for data exchange and tools development within the EPIC system including Clarity and Caboodle databases. They will also support development of reporting dashboards and project specific queries using our learning health system infrastructure based on Microsoft SQL.

This is a one-year term limited position with the possibility of extension.

Responsibilities*
Meeting with stakeholders to understand the clinical and research data and technical infrastructure requirements.
50% Support of MROAR and connections to EPIC
25% Support for Social Determinants of Health Research carried out with information from MROAR and EPIC
25% Support for development of EPIC dashboards and components supporting clinical operations.
Database extraction using SQL and creating and maintaining relevant documentation.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications*
Bachelor's degree in a related field.
Intermediate: Two to three years of experience working with technology in a complex systems environment.
Senior: At least four years of experience working with technology in a complex systems environment.
EPIC certification
Strong understanding of data and information management principles.
Experience in using Microsoft SQL databases and creating and generating reports.
Experience writing production level code with Microsoft C#.Net
Must be self-motivated, highly dependable independent worker
Ability to efficiently and effectively prioritize work and problem solve without direct supervision.
Ability to add new programming skills as needs of project dictate.
Strong organizational skills.
Strong verbal and written skills.
Strong commitment to philanthropy at Michigan Medicine.
A high level of discretion and confidentiality while interact-acting with donors, leadership and staff.
