What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a qualified Senior Manager of Program Management to join our Center 8100 senior management team. In this key role, the selected candidate will provide senior level PM leadership for the 8120 ND Project Management departments and the W80-4 program. You will work side-by-side with the 8200 Systems Engineering senior leadership team and be an accountable systems level senior manager that owns PM related scope on the program. The role will also lead approximately 7 departments and 100 staff that encompass all of Sandia’s PM support for W80-4 systems, Sentinel systems, 8400 subsystems/components for the W80-4, W87-1, and other ND programs, as well as SNL/CA stockpile systems. This role will partner closely with centers 8200, 2300,and 8400 to understand programmatic needs and implement project management processes in alignment with customer and corporate PM requirements. The successful candidate will be expected to continue to advance project management activities, including supporting Sandia’s ND strategic direction.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Lead all systems level project management scope and activities for the W80-4 program at Sandia
- Innovate and lead programmatic initiatives that increase efficiency, reduce bureaucracy, reduce risk, and increase the W80-4 program’s ability to successfully execute to FPU in FY27
- Work collaboratively with Sandia systems leadership and partners within the NSE (KCNSC, LLNL, others) to study, propose, and drive impactful NSE-level improvements/solutions that target executability for the W80-4 program at a national level
- Establish and drive the strategic direction of Project Management for the W80-4 as an enabler for successful program execution towards FPU
- Drive PM efficiencies and standardization among 8400 based subsystems and components
- Collaborate with other programs on ND optimization efforts, strategic initiatives, and lessons learned
- Provide leadership for the 8120 management team and PM staff career development
- Ensure consistent application of project management principles at rigor levels consistent with program intent and requirements
- Partner w/10400 leadership on lab and/or ND-level PM efforts
- Regularly collaborate with Sandia senior and executive leaders, using communication, leadership, and influencing skills
- Build and sustain effective working relationships across the NSE, including NNSA, other labs/plants, and DoD
Salary Range:
$178,300 - $302,900
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate\'s experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Project Management, STEM, or other relevant field plus ten or more years of directly related experience; or equivalent experience and/or achievements that demonstrate the knowledge, skills and ability to perform the duties of the job
- At least 2 years of previous management/supervisor/leadership experience
- Experience in project management across a diverse set of projects/programs and demonstrated knowledge of project management
- Ability to travel as necessary
- Active DOE Q security clearance or equivalent
Qualifications We Desire:
- Master\'s degree in Business, Project Management, or STEM field
- Five or more years of demonstrated leadership and/or managerial experience
- Relevant SNL experience with project management in ND programs
- Demonstrated ability to work successfully with executives, customers, and outside partners on a major program
- Experience as a Senior Manager
- Demonstrated broad range and knowledge of Sandia\'s mission and working knowledge of the program and management structure of the Laboratories
- Experience in project management or controls on projects requiring “enhanced project management”, including defining program work scope, schedules, budgets, priorities, and performance milestones; developing cost, scope, and schedule baselines; reporting cost and schedule variance; and/or managing change control and risk.
- Knowledge of ND and product realization process; experience working on ND programs at the system level
- Experience solving problems associated with large complex engineering programs and bridge technical challenges with programmatic impacts
- Proven ability to lead beyond immediate direct reports, including across Sandia and the Nuclear Security Enterprise
- Ability to build and energize successful teams
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain trust-based partnerships
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong interpersonal skills, including ability to collaborate and partner with customers and partners
- Balanced strategic/tactical perspective with demonstrated ability to drive strategy to execution
- Demonstrated organizational skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize and complete tasks in a high-pressure environment
- Professional certification such as PMP, INCOSE, or equivalent
About Our Team:
The 8100 Integrated Business and Program Management Center provides business operations for all of Division 8000 including business development, program management, financial analysis, communications, procurement, quality assurance, strategy development and human resources. As its primary purpose, 8100 delivers to Division 8000 professional business operations that enhance the mission execution excellence.

Security Clearance:
Position requires a Department of Energy (DOE) Q security clearance to start, or equivalent active security clearance with another U.S. government agency (e.g., DOD).
