Job SummaryOperates, supports and provides enterprise servers, storage, datacenter, and related services and solutions provided by the Enterprise Compute and Storage Engineering group. Responsibilities include but are not limited to servers, storage, backup and data protection, virtualization, containerization, datacenter management, directory and authentication services, and cloud infrastructure services.
Responsibilities
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: -
1. Operates and supports enterprise compute and storage related systems, services and solutions, ensuring their quality, stability, recoverability, and security
2. Diagnoses and resolves problems and services open tickets
3. Maintains documentation of existing systems, services, processes, and procedures
4. Provides on call support responding to incidents on nights and weekends
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Experience
One (1) year of IT experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
Undergraduate or advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education in Computer Science or related field
Preferred Experience
Experience working with data storage systems in an institute of higher education
Must be aware of current technologies and industry best practices for the areas of responsibility

Able to function with autonomy, making sound and timely decisions as appropriate, and using good judgement to determine which decisions should be escalated
Able to diagnose and resolve problems
Able to identify problems and take appropriate action

KNOWLEDGE
Extensive knowledge of datacenter operations in the following areas: systems, storage, data protection, virtualization, cloud services, and datacenter operations
Extensive knowledge of server and storage infrastructure operations
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, initiative, teamwork, problem solving, independent judgment, organization, communication (verbal and written), time management, project management and presentation skills
Proficient with computer applications and programs associated with the position (i.e., Microsoft Office suite)
Strong attention to detail and follow up skills
Strong customer service skills and phone and e-mail etiquette
