Job Summary:
The National Research Network Manager will lead organizational management for our National Research Network for Children and Youth with Special Health Care Needs under direction from, and in collaboration with, the division chief and the network's co-leads. This network pursues a portfolio of multisite quantitative and qualitative research studies in close collaboration with the US Maternal and Child Health Bureau. In addition, the network runs a set of related programs, including advisory and family engagement committees, emerging investigator training programs, among others.

The Department of Pediatrics at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health is a vibrant academic department comprising more than 200 faculty in 16 subspecialty divisions. Responsibilities:
Manages a single project from start to finish or one phase of a large project under limited supervision.
40% Creates a project plan, monitors progress and performance against the project plan, and identifies, resolves, or escalates risks and issues
10% Manages the activities of outside contractors to ensure they are integrated into the project and that the organization receives satisfactory standards of service
10% Facilitates the estimation of project costs, resources, and time required to complete the assigned phase of a project and monitors activities, negotiates for resources, and assigns tasks to ensure these targets are met. Follows established change control processes if targets can no longer be met
10% Prepares regular reports to communicate the status of the project within and beyond the project team
10% Sets priorities, allocates tasks, and collaborates with project staff to meet project targets and milestones
10% Develops, implements, and maintains a set of Network Standard Operating Procedures
10% Develops, implements, and maintains Network communication and meeting strategies - coordinating meetings, setting agendas, leading meetings, and taking minutes when needed

Education:
Preferred
Master's Degree

Qualifications:
Experience working with children with special health care needs and experience managing complex projects is required.

Professional communication skills are essential. The candidate should have exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize multiple simultaneous assignments. The candidate must be dependable, with attention to detail and ability to multitask with independence.

Computer experience with Microsoft Office, including Word for Windows, Outlook, Excel, Teams, and PowerPoint, as well as project management software, and Qualtrics / REDCap or similar survey programs is required.

Desired characteristics include experience with protocol or standard operating procedures development, research, timeline and data organization.
