As a successful candidate, you will:
The VP, Infrastructure and Operations provides the vision for creating a sophisticated, world-class technology environment; with the resources needed to deliver in today’s environment. The VP is responsible for building an agile infrastructure delivery service, incorporated to work with managed service providers, cloud-based solutions, and on-demand capabilities. The VP works with other enterprise leaders to define the cloud adoption strategy, the modernization of the technology state, and the processes by which the organization will optimize for growth.
The VP has clear operational responsibilities and serve as a chief technical architect to develop technical solutions for current and proposed programs and will be expected to represent the company at broader industry and technology events.
- Responsible for all aspects of technology infrastructure annual and multi-year planning and maintenance to ensure consistent and high-quality program in support of the business goals.
- Directs the review of present solutions and methods and the formulation of new and revised solutions, and determines the appropriate changes to effect improvements, reduce costs, and enhance efficiency.
- Responsible for infrastructure modernization, including hybrid multicloud, edge computing, containerization, and automated, programmable infrastructure, etc.
- Drives the delivery of major technology and infrastructure projects and service management improvements, ensuring that quality, productivity, and ROI goals are achieved.
- Leads the delivery of client facing services, provide innovative leadership and oversee teams that represent the front-line support and overall IT presence.
- Responsible for development, maintenance, and communication of technology architecture standards and lead the organization in developing and sustaining a culture of customer service providing a high-quality end-user experience.
- Follows established City of Hope and department policies, procedures, objectives, performance improvement, attendance, safety, environmental, and infection control guidelines, including adherence to the workplace Code of Conduct and Compliance Plan.
- Practices a high level of integrity and honesty in maintaining confidentiality.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.
Your qualifications should include:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Management, Information Technology or related field
- 15 years of information technology experience, with 10 years of experience in technology leadership positions with an emphasis on infrastructure services.
- MBA Preferred
Preferred Experience:
- Experience with highly sensitive customer data and maintaining its security as a top priority; understanding data security and data privacy at scale
- Experience working across IT, product, and operations teams, on developing the strategy, architecture, and processes required to support COH’s mission
- Ability to be an enabler. Have strong quantitative and analytical abilities with deep understanding of how to develop relevant metrics that not only track activity but also quantify the impact of initiatives on the financial, growth, and performance of the business
- Experience interacting at the Executive Leadership and Board level to effectively communicate with a senior audience.
- Strong and consultative leader, with the ability to influence throughout the organization, across all divisions. Effective, proven, and comfortable managing directly and through influence
- Ability to review and evaluate terms and conditions in software, hardware and IT services contracts as well as negotiate appropriate agreements as they require input on IT continuity and planning
- Familiarity and experience with regulatory compliance and reporting bodies (HIPAA, HITECH Act, JACHO, etc.) and compliance programs
- Skilled in driving enterprise adoption of Cloud, DevOps, Machine learning, AI Ops, and big data platforms to support growth and a connected user experience
- Experienced in the architecture, delivery, and support of IT infrastructure, including hosting, cloud, storage, database, network, security, telephony, automation, and end-user systems
- Recent experience with IaaS, PaaS, CI/CD, and DevOps automation
- Track record of consistently improving availability, security, and performance in a cost-effective manner across all platforms
- Deep experience in leading complex managed service partner relationships and managing vendors to maximum value via win-win contract negotiations and holding providers accountable to their commitments
- Proficient in leading relationships with business partners and effectively managing expectations of key stakeholders
- Specialized in building high-performing teams fully engaged in enabling the success of the business
- Implementing organizational change models to move from a regional model to a unified technology organization, allowing for improvement and streamlining of IT operations and modernization of core technologies
