Summary
The Buffington Lab in the Center for Precision Environmental Health is looking for a talented individual to join the team. Technician beself-motivated with existing research experience capable of independently preparing and organizing lab reagents, performing experiments, record keeping, and producing novel ideas.
Job Duties
- Performs mouse husbandry and genotyping of transgenic lines.
- Assists with and performs molecular and behavioral (mouse) neuroscience studies.
- Evaluates and analyzes data.
- Performs complex procedures and follows established protocols required for specific research projects.
- Documents results of experiments and reports to principal investigators.
- Tracks the inventory for reagents and ensures necessary supplies are stocked.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor\'s degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in rodent colony management and behavioral neuroscience.
- Be comfortable with molecular neuroscience techniques as well as animal handling and behavior.
