The Body Imaging Section within the Department of Radiology at the University of Louisville is seeking a dynamic and highly skilled full-time academic radiologist. This position requires Board Certification or Board Eligibility (BC/BE) and fellowship training in Body Imaging. The position is listed as open rank and will be determined based on the candidate's experience and qualifications, with options for Assistant, Associate, and Professor levels.
Responsibilities: As a member of the Body Imaging Section, your primary responsibilities will involve the supervision and training of Radiology residents and fellows in the interpretation of Fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and Ultrasound. You will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of radiologists and contribute to the academic excellence of our institution.
Body Imaging Section: In this role, you will be managing a diverse workload, which includes inpatient and outpatient cross-sectional imaging of the chest, abdomen, and pelvis. Additionally, you will be involved in a significant portion of CTA examinations of the extremities. Our CT imaging is heavily concentrated in oncology workup/follow-up and postsurgical/trauma patients. MR imaging of the abdomen includes liver, pancreas, and renal imaging, while MR of the pelvis involves evaluation of GI, GYN, and GU malignancies, including prostate MRI.
Hospital Coverage: The Body Imaging Section covers imaging services at prestigious institutions, including UofL Health – University Hospital, UofL Health Jewish Hospital, and the local VA hospital. At the VA hospital, providing an enriching and challenging environment for our radiologists.
Conference and Research Participation: As part of the academic community, you will actively participate in resident case conferences and core didactic lecture conferences. This involvement will foster a collaborative learning environment and contribute to the growth of our residents. While research is optional, candidates interested in research are encouraged to have a strong record of publications or other evidence of scholarly activity.
Qualifications:
Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Radiology (BC/BE)
Fellowship training in Body Imaging
Strong interpersonal and teaching skills
Commitment to academic excellence and patient care
