Within Worldwide Sales & Operations Support, the Pacific Operations team is responsible for flawlessly executing Apple’s supply chain in the Pacific region to fulfill millions of customer orders from Greater China, North East Asia, South Asia and Australia-New Zealand while making sure that the right Apple products reach our customers at the right place and at the right time.
We are seeking an experienced and innovative Data Scientist to join our Business Analytics team to empower our Operations team with advanced analytics capabilities and actionable insights derived from complex datasets. The ideal candidate will excel in transforming data into powerful tools for decision-making, utilizing an integrated approach of analytics, statistical modeling, and machine learning methodologies.
In this role, you will work closely with cross-functional teams to solve complex problems, drive data-driven decision-making, and contribute to the strategic direction of our business analytics initiatives.
Description
Minimum Qualifications
- 7+ years of practical experience in a data science role, with experience in implementing large AI/ML projects.
- Skilled in the use of statistical tools and programming (including Python, SQL).
- Proven experience with machine learning libraries and frameworks.
- Strong understanding of data structures and algorithms, as well as database management systems.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and experience in hypothesis-driven statistical testing.
- Proven track record in operationalizing models and integration into business processes.
- Ability to translate complex data insights into actionable business strategies.
- Exceptional communication and collaboration skills, with a track record of successful cross-functional collaboration.
- Master’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong knowledge of supply chain processes including demand forecasting, inventory management, and replenishment.
- Experience with Operations Research and optimization techniques.
- Experience with generative AI, including applications such as Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), data retrieval, orchestration, and tool calling.
- Demonstrated skill in data visualization and communication tools (e.g., Tableau).
- Ph.D. in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or a related field.
