Position Description:

The Kentucky Spinal Cord Injury Research Center (KSCIRC) is seeking a full-time, tenure track faculty member at the associate professor level. Candidates must possess a Ph.D., M.D., or equivalent degree. The candidate should have an active, extramurally funded research program with a lab that fosters opportunities for graduate student training. Competitive start-up funds and appropriate space will be offered. There are also opportunities for obtaining an endowed chair for qualified candidates. Of particular interest will be individuals working in areas that complement or add to the Centers strength in spinal cord injury (neural repair and plasticity; molecular signaling; neuromodulation; locomotor systems and rehabilitation; autonomic systems [cardiovascular, pulmonary, urogenital; bowel]; neuropathic pain), including translational research that encompasses animal and/or human adult or pediatric research. KSCIRC offers a stimulating and collaborative environment, including shared state-of-the-art equipment and access to several strong graduate programs, including the Interdisciplinary Program in Translational Neurosciences (https://louisville.edu/translational-neuroscience) and the Interdisciplinary Program in Biomedical Sciences (https://louisville.edu/medicine/ipibs).

All KSCIRC faculty have primary appointments in either a clinical or basic science department based upon their research area and interests.
