Established in 2017, the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services was established through a unique collaboration between Augusta University Health System and the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice with the goal of delivering high-quality health services to the state of Georgia's justice-involved youth in 25 facilities.
College/Department Information
Our mission in the Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services is to transform young lives by providing evidence-based rehabilitative treatment services and supervision, strengthening the well-being of youth and families, and fostering safe communities.
Each youth will receive appropriate, individualized care to improve their health knowledge and their potential for wellness.
Responsibilities
Duties to include but are not limited to:
Under direction of the Health Services Administrator - is responsible for performing a variety of routine clerical duties in support of an office or department. Also responsible for promoting a customer friendly environment and providing superior service to our youth, facility staff, family and outside vendors.
Required Qualifications
  1. High School Diploma or a GED required, plus a minimum of 1 year experience performing secretarial /clerical assistant duties in an office setting
  2. Working knowledge of MS Office to include Word, Outlook and Excel.
  3. Good organizational and decision-making skills; good physical and mental health; able to work under pressure; must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors and co-workers.
  4. Normal levels of hearing and seeing, if necessary, with corrective appliances. Must be able to perform CPR.
  5. Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.

Preferred:
Associate Degree, plus 3 years experience performing secretarial /clerical assistant duties in an office setting.
