Job Description
Argonne National Laboratory in Lemont, IL is seeking aPostdoctoral Researcher focused on developing methods for the fabrication and characterization of 2D layered materials. The successful candidate will work on cutting-edge projects that involve both structural and electronic characterization of quantum materials.
Key Responsibilities:
Fabricate heterostructures of 2D layered materials
Conduct structural and electronic characterization of heterostructures to evaluate their properties
Analyze and interpret data, maintaining accurate records of research findings
Prepare and present research results in scientific meetings, conferences, and peer-reviewed journals
Position Requirements
- PhD in physics or a related field; received within the last 5 years or upcoming year.
- Prior experience with fabricating 2D heterostructures of layered materials Demonstrated experience in 2D materials fabrication and characterization
- Proficiency in structural and chemical characterization techniques such as SEM, AFM, probe station
- Data analysis
- Strong oral and written communication
- Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative research team
