The Michigan Institute for Data and AI in Society (MIDAS) at the University of Michigan is seeking applications for our postdoctoral and faculty fellowship programs. These programs provide outstanding early-career researchers and early-to-mid-career African faculty researchers with intensive data science and AI experience as they ready themselves for independent research and faculty positions.MIDAS promotes advancements in data science and artificial intelligence, and enables their transformative use in a wide range of research disciplines to achieve lasting scientific and societal impact. Fellows will work in an intellectually vibrant environment, build interdisciplinary relationships with other Fellows and over 570 MIDAS affiliate faculty.

The Schmidt AI in Science Postdoctoral Fellowship: this 2-year program aims to enable the substantive use of AI for breakthroughs in mathematical sciences, physical sciences, engineering, earth and environmental science, as well as biological sciences. https://midas.umich.edu/ai-in-science/
NEW Schmidt AI in Science African Faculty Fellowship: this is a 2-year program for faculty members from African universities which includes 12-month residency at the U-M Ann Arbor campus and support to conduct research for 12 months in their home institution. The Michigan Data Science Fellowship: this 2-year program supports research in responsible data science and AI, and data science and AI methods applied to social science, biomedical and healthcare research. https://midas.umich.edu/fellows/
