What Your Job Will Be Like:
Are you passionate about working in a high functioning, inter-disciplinary collaborative team in facilities management? If so, you could be the Facilities Technologist we are seeking to join our team!
In this role, you will perform work to support Center 4700 Operations and Maintenance in the Work Coordination Center (WCC) department for the engineering and maintenance activities involving construction, maintenance, inspection, and facilities and infrastructure system operations.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Facilities Service Requests (SR) and Work Orders (WO) in Maximo, to include WCC receipt/creation of SRs and WOs, ensuring thorough scope of work, correct prioritization and assigning the work to Center 4700’s best-suited work execution element. You will monitor all SRs/WOs and provide timely status information to Facility Portfolio Management Teams, customers, planners, schedulers, and work execution elements.
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Perform a variety of facilities management system related functions, including technical interface between facilities building occupants and/or Building Managers and Center 4700 execution elements and monitor/ analyze work execution performance in a high-functioning environment.
- Analyze service requests and work with customers, Building Managers, and Facility Engineers on the technical aspects of the work and based on technical facilities knowledge and capabilities and capacity of Center 4700 work execution elements, determine the best execution method for accomplishing the work.
- Set priorities in scheduling and performing work to ensure deadlines and objectives are met by contractors.
- Serve as information hub for work performed by Center 4700; report and track progress toward goals for schedules and costs related to facility equipment.
- Collect information and generate reports; attend daily Tier Meetings and provide appropriate flow of information up and down the chain; communicate and coordinate with other teams to accomplish process objectives.
Due to the nature of the work, the selected applicant must be able to work onsite 100%.
Salary Range:
$60,300 - $116,000
*Salary range is estimated, and actual salary will be determined after consideration of the selected candidate's experience and qualifications, and application of any approved geographic salary differential.
Qualifications We Require:
- High school diploma or equivalent, plus three (3) or more years of related experience; or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Knowledge and experience in facility maintenance activities.
- Knowledge, understanding, and proficient skilled use of computerized office system (MS Office).
- Experience communicating the status of facility equipment and maintenance and upgrade activities.
- Knowledge, understanding, and proficient skilled experience/use of computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) i.e. Maximo.
- Current, active DOE L-level security clearance (or equivalent i.e. DoD Secret).
Qualifications We Desire:
- Hands on experience in a relevant trade (electrical, mechanical, carpentry, sheet-metal, plumbing, auto mechanics, welding, machinery repair, etc).
- Knowledge, understanding of work hazards, safety practices, operating configurations, and lockout/tagout policies and procedures.
- Knowledge, understanding of various physical, mechanical, and electrical documents including drawings, schematics, and operations manuals.
- Knowledge of Sandia's facility and operational policies, practices, and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal requirements and environmental impacts affecting facility maintenance and operations.
- Facilities Management Professional Certification.
- Lean Six Sigma Greenbelt.
About Our Team:
The Work Coordination Center (WCC), 4716, serves as the interface between building mangers role of authorizing and scoping work and maintenance and projects role of receiving, planning, scheduling, and performing work. The WCC services include Facilities service request desk operations, coordination of work between centers, warranty management, impairment/outage coordination, and personnel moves.

If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
