Summary
The lab is seeking a qualified, experienced, professional who possesses advanced knowledge of clinical research practices for a full-time Research Technician II. This position will function in the clinical research section of the Department of Neurosurgery. The Research Technician II will function in a capacity in which they assist and facilitate ongoing clinical research trials. The Research Technician II will provide professional skills involving patient related research efforts and will be involved in some aspects of data processing and analysis.The position is located at both Baylor College of Medicine Main Campus and the Baylor Medicine Jamail Specialty Care Center, at the Texas Medical Center.
Job Duties
- Serves as a research technician for assigned sponsored and/or investigator-initiated protocols.
- Conducts weekly experiments.
- Attends weekly patient visits and oversees various experimental tasks, collect data, and subsequent uploading to designated servers.
- Attends patient visits to download chronic data and in-clinic data.
- Coordinates at-home data collection andcollaborateswith both patients and Medtronic representatives nationwide.
- Works on data preprocessing pipelines and preprocess all incoming data from experiments for future analysis.
- Coordinates patient visits and takes consent from potential patients for participation in research studies.
- Facilitates multiple clinical trials, under the supervision of the PI and Clinical Research Manager.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
- No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
- Degree in neuroscience, psychology, biomedical Sciences or Health Administration is preferred.
- Knowledge and experience of regulatory aspects of clinical research is a desired.
- Has effective communication skills, both orally and in writing.
- Has ability to understand and implement research studies and protocols.
- Has interpersonal skills necessary to coordinate research studies.
