Summary
The Section of Geriatrics & Palliative Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine seeks an exceptional Geriatrician for a full-time Assistant/Associate Professor role. Baylor College of Medicine is dedicated to excellence in patient care, education, and scholarly activities. We strive to provide dedicated patient care to the senior population in the outpatient and inpatient settings. Our physicians practice at the Baylor McNair Medicine Clinic and Baylor St. Luke's Hospital.
The Section of Geriatrics and Palliative Medicine at Baylor College of Medicine seeks an outpatient Geriatric Physician to provide services at the Baylor Medicine McNair clinic with occasional inpatient rounding at Baylor St. Luke's Hospital. Ideal candidates are patient-centered and committed to excellence in providing quality care in an outpatient and inpatient setting.
Job Duties
- Provide comprehensive geriatrics care and frailty assessments on selected subspecialty patients including but not limited to Surgery, Oncology and Cardiovascular patients.
- The position is clinical, with nine weekly sessions of direct patient care with occasional inpatient rounding.
- Provide medical care to the Geriatric population in the outpatient care setting. Supervise fellows, residents, medical students, and other learners as needed.
- Participate in any geriatric team meetings.
- Keep up with continuing medical education as per college and specialty requirements.
- Renewing and meeting all required licenses and certification requirements.
- Familiarize with the Epic electronic medical records and document all patient encounters as needed.
- Complete all documentation promptly so billing and other administrative tasks can occur smoothly, ensuring a robust operational system.
Minimum Qualifications
M.D. or D.O. degree; Board Certified or Board eligible.
