Position Summary:
The Financial Analyst II is responsible for performing complex duties involved in compiling, analyzing, and reporting financial performance. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institution policy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develops and maintains databases, spreadsheets and other fiscal reporting mechanisms; reviews and audits fiscal information for accuracy and quality assurance.
Posts transactions to journals and/or ledgers, balances entries, and reconciles errors manually or electronically.
Monitors and maintains the application of payments for the accounts receivable module.
Manages the 1098-T process with a high degree of accuracy and timeliness.
Responsible for the end of day office balancing procedure.
Reviews and manages the bookstore inclusive access program charges.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.
Knowledge of mathematics and statistical analysis.
Ability to analyze financial reports, financial statements, and other records.
Ability to read and understand information and ideas presented in writing.
Ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce accurate resolutions.
Minimum Requirements:
The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.
Preferred Qualifications:
Minimum of two years' bookkeeping experience in an office setting.
Experience with Ellucian Banner software
Minimum of two years' experience with accounts receivable.
Work Location, Environment, and Physical Demands:
Work location is at Arkansas Tech University, Russellville Campus.
Must be able to sit and use a computer for extended periods of time.
