Job Summary/Basic Function
The Department of Media Arts at Middle Tennessee State University invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor to teach animation and other related courses. The start date for the position is August 1, 2025.
The successful candidate will teach courses such as preproduction, 3D, 2D, motion graphics, VFX, compositing, postproduction, visualization, virtual production, and animation aesthetics using current industry standard production tools, techniques, and technology. Teaching will be on-ground and may also include some remote and online teaching. Training and experience in visual media or art is expected.
Required Education
A terminal degree (MFA) in Animation or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. A master's degree (MA or MS) in a closely related field with two (2) years of full-time, professional industry experience in animation or a closely related field will be considered in lieu of a terminal degree.
