Facilities Services Division provides quality customer service by maintaining a safe, healthy, and aesthetically pleasing environment in which students, faculty, and staff can function and accomplish their educational objectives and by supporting a patient care culture that continuously improves. Facilities Services' responsibilities include Interior and Exterior Facilities Support, Construction, Space Management, and Environmental Services.
Job Summary
Provides oversight and coordination of all phases of the project delivery process for assigned large and small-capital projects, and maintenance projects. This includes initial planning and programming efforts, selection process for design consultants, construction managers and contractors, leading the design phase while collaborating with end-user groups, university administration, and other stakeholders. Following requirements of the University System of Georgia (USG) office of Real Estate & Facilities as well as local and national codes, manages the construction phase while maintaining project schedules and budgets. Manages all contracts related to the design and construction of assigned projects.
Responsibilities
The responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Manages all aspects of project delivery
Manages all aspects of project delivery for assigned university capital projects. This includes collaborating with stakeholders to develop a project scope of work and general timetable to completion, determining an appropriate approach to successfully executing the project, selection of design and construction firms as well as other required consultants. Ensures that the work is completed in a safe, timely manner and in compliance with required risk assessments and all appropriate regulatory agencies. Manages the design development and construction execution of the university's maintenance, repair and renovation projects.
Monitors and tracks project data
Monitors and tracks project data including general progress reports and costs. Creates status reports and communicates with all stakeholders. Ensures that projects are constructed and completed in a high-quality, timely, and cost-efficient manner.
Regularly performs on-site inspections
Regularly performs on-site inspections of work under construction, attends and participates in all project-related meetings including owner-architect meetings. Compares construction progress with established project timelines. Manages construction progress ensuring that procedures and materials comply with specifications.
Manages processes
Manages processes related to procuring outside vendors, design consultants and contractors including selection and management of contracts. This includes reviewing and approving invoices and comparing invoiced amounts with actual progress.
Other
Performs other duties as assigned including providing support to other AU shops and organizations and events as necessary.
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
Bachelors degree from an accredited college or university in Architecture, Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management or related field of study; or Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in Construction Management, Building Construction Technology or related field of study with 3 years of relevant experience; or High School, GED or equivalent from a recognized state or federal accredited organization and 5 years of experience in a similar role.
Other Required Qualifications
Valid Drivers License issued to operate AU vehicles.

Graduate degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering, Architecture, Construction Management, Business Administration preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
ABILITIES
Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications. Knowledge in building HVAC and electrical systems and design. Direct knowledge of compliance requirements as they relate to an academic campus setting.
Ability to track data and metrics to drive decisions.
Ability to think strategically and staying abreast of industry trends and technology.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days/M-F (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: 13
Salary Minimum: $68,500.00/Annually - $87,300.00/Annually
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position

Conditions of Employment
