Intel's Neuromorphic Computing Lab is seeking an AI Software Solutions Engineer to enable applications of Intel neuromorphic technology. Neuromorphic computing takes inspiration from biological systems to achieve vastly more efficient and adaptable AI than what is possible with conventional processors.
As a member of the Application Engineering Team, you will support the Intel Neuromorphic Research Community (INRC) and Intel's deployed neuromorphic research systems in different geos. You will engage with leading AI researchers from academic, government, and commercial organizations and help them build state-of-the-art brain-inspired models and systems. You will consult and support on a wide range of research projects and contribute to the development and maintenance of a library of solutions that make use of Intel neuromorphic technology.

To be successful in this role, you will:
- Work with internal engineering teams and external partners and customers to deliver optimized AI solutions using Intel neuromorphic technology with the goal of driving adoption of Intel products.
- Understand technical trends and utilize domain expertise to prototype solutions and develop AI software including open-source libraries and models.
- Optimize performance of AI models through deep knowledge and expertise of AI frameworks, algorithms, models, and related hardware.
- Research, develop, and adjust new or existing AI models, code, parameters, and/or quantization to address issues and modify operations to enhance performance.
- Partner with AI algorithm and framework engineers as needed to optimize end-to-end AI models to Intel hardware features.
- Serve as a trusted technical advisor and provide technical enabling.
- Partner with Intel software and hardware product development teams to accelerate and optimize future neuromorphic products by leading application pre-enabling and product hardening.
- Deliver competitive and differentiated benchmark collateral and identify and drive key workloads into product requirements.

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications, you must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position:
- Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Applied Math/Physics, Neuroscience, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience designing, writing, debugging, and optimizing codes in Python.
- 2+ years of experience using AI/ML frameworks such as PyTorch, JAX, or TensorFlow.
- 2+ years of experience using AI hardware and standard computer hardware with knowledge of setup, troubleshooting, and performance characteristics.
- 1+ years of experience in technology research with knowledge of the research lifecycle, publication processes, and roles and responsibilities.
- The position is in Mexico, it is not eligible for employment-based visa/immigration sponsorship.
- Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Mexico.
- Advanced English level.
Preferred qualifications, are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates:
- MS degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, Applied Math/Physics, Neuroscience, or a related field
- 2+ years of relevant industry experience.
- Research publications in AI/ML or neuromorphic computing.
- Contributions to open-source repositories and familiarity with open-source conventions.
- Experience in C/C++, understanding and debugging performance-critical systems code.
- Familiarity with a wide range of AI/ML models and techniques.
