Job Summary
Full cycle accountant responsible for general ledger transactions, journal entries, accounts payable, reconciliations, financial statements, analysis and management reporting, audit requests documentation preparation, and SEC, IRS and state compliance documentation and reporting for outstanding tax-exempt bond issues for subsidiary property related LLCs and Augusta University Real Estate Corporation.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Responsible for recording property general ledger daily transactional activity.
  • Responsible for reconciliation of property general ledger accounts as required (either daily, monthly, or annually). Track and report outstanding items from bank reconciliations.
  • Responsible for preparation of property related Accounts Payable transactions daily and process payments weekly.
  • Responsible for tracking and preparation of required reporting for tax exempt bond issues timely.
  • Responsible for preparation of necessary journal entries for month end close and year end close, and preparation of financial statements for ASU Jaguar Student Center LLC, ASU Jaguar Student Housing I, LLC, AU Jaguar Facilities Development, LLC, and Augusta University Real Estate Corporation, and any additional LLCs when started.
  • Responsible for preparation of audit documentation and coordination with financial auditors for all LLCs and Augusta University Real Estate Corporation.
  • Responsible for coordination and preparation of SEC, IRS, and state Annual reporting required for the property LLCs.
  • Assist with 1099 preparation and 990 tax returns preparation annually.
  • Perform all other job-related duties as assigned by CFO.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Accounting or Business with concentration in accounting, along with five years of applicable experience with at least two years in sponsored program accounting.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with accounting for property management
Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge accounting software and/or Blackbaud Raiser's Edge donor software.
Experience with Non-Profit or foundation organizations
Experience with accounting and/or compliance related to tax exempt bond issues and IRS form 990 reporting.
Extensive experience with spreadsheets, databases, data queries, and financial reporting.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality. Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Competency and accuracy with accounting software. Ability to work independently to resolve issues. Ability to communicate professionally. Competency with email and Microsoft products; Excel, Word, Power Point. Ability to prioritize and handle deadlines. Well organized and detail oriented. Requires adaptability, good judgement, and initiative.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (work outside of the normal business hours will likely be required of an employee in an exempt level position)
Pay Band: B11
Salary Minimum: $56,600 - Midpoint: $72,200
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
