Job ID: 224806Position # 20006632 Augusta University (AU) is hiring 15-20 new faculty members for a transdisciplinary research initiative in Healthy Longevity entitled, Transdisciplinary Research cluster in Inflammaging and Brain Aging (TRIBA). The initiative is a cluster recruitment for interdisciplinary faculty positions across AU colleges, including the College of Nursing, to build upon existing AU strengths in Bioinformatics, Artificial Intelligence, Precision Medicine, Personalized Nutraceuticals and Neuroscience to identify potential causes and adverse outcomes of age-related inflammation. Incoming CON faculty will work collaboratively with inflammaging research faculty colleagues at the Medical College of Georgia, School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, Dental College of Georgia, College of Allied Health Sciences and the College of Science and Mathematics.
AU College of Nursing
The AU College of Nursing, as part of the TRIBA initiative, will hire faculty members with established and/or strong potential for extramural research programs focused on the chronic and progressive inflammatory response to such factors as stress, age, injury, acute or chronic illness, etc. The incoming faculty will join a robust team of 18 research-oriented nursing faculty colleagues at the College of Nursing which offers hallmark learning experiences, including
  • nationally ranked graduate and online programs
  • state-of-the-art facilities
  • integration of simulated learning
  • interprofessional collaboration across healthcare disciplines
  • a variety of service-learning experiences
  • opportunities to engage in cutting-edge research

Applicants for the faculty positions are expected to have significant postdoctoral experience, strong record of research accomplishment and demonstrated ability to develop extramurally funded, independent research programs.
Minimum Requirements
  • PhD in Nursing
  • Active license to practice nursing in the state of Georgia or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia.
  • Those seeking rank of Assistant Professor will bring research training and demonstrate high potential to secure extramural research funding. Higher academic ranks are available to candidates with demonstrated extramural funding, progressive program of research, and expert in their field.
