What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking an ADMIN SVCS-CLERICAL SPRT (Request Desk Operator)
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Coordinate contract and telecon services for plant engineering and maintenance services, assessing priority of the request, determining craft work requirements, ascertaining need for engineering review, and determining renewability of service contracts.
- Request Desk Operation - Point of contact for all facilities telephone requests. Receive, clarify, and enter Customer Requests into Maximo Service Desk and Service Now applications.
- Permits Coordination - Coordinate and manage the application and processing of Permits for construction projects and maintenance activities. Work includes checking and processing permit submittal information, statusing permits and notifying pertinent parties, resolving requester issues, and overseeing permit documentation.
- Continuous Improvement- perform administrative duties in support of continuous improvement efforts.
- As a condition of employment, this position is represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). Represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.
Qualifications We Require:
- Perform research and/or investigations of records, electronic databases, DOE and SNL policies to determine source, type of error and appropriate actions; reconcile discrepancies; recommend solutions.
- Ensure that individuals needing access to classified information or site access to Sandia meet all requirements prior to receiving a clearance and a badge.
- Advanced working knowledge and proven experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint, Access).
- Demonstrated experience using Computerized Maintenance Management system (CMMS) and integrated workplace management software (IWMS) i.e. Maximo, Tririga, ServiceNow.
- Proven experience in working with software databases and data entry, tracking action items, maintaining files, and working successfully as team
- Ability to provide excellent Customer service, work with a wide range of Customers, and be flexible and proactive in meeting changing priorities and business needs.
Qualifications We Desire:
- One to three years of related work experience in the call center, facilities, or construction industry.
- Experience working with Facility processes including operations, maintenance, permitting, projects, and document management.
- Understanding of engineering, construction, and operations and maintenance terminology.
- Demonstrated experience of advanced use of CMMS and IWMS platforms to run reports and quires for analysis.
- Active Department of Energy "L" clearance.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. Applicants for employment need to be able to obtain and maintain a DOE L-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.

Required Testing:
Applicants must meet the minimum pre-requisites to be scheduled for testing. The applicant will be contacted and scheduled for the next available test date. All applicants must be prepared to test upon application submittal. Once successful testing has been completed, the hiring manager will be notified. Full consideration will not be given to applicants that have not met all of the pre-requisites including testing. Interviews will not be scheduled until the applicant has successfully test-qualified and has been selected by the manager as a top applicant. Passing the test does not guarantee an interview or a selection.If the applicant is not able to schedule testing within the time constraints of the position posting, selection timelines, and the available test dates, they will not be considered for the position. It is imperative that applicants are immediately available for testing in order to provide the best opportunities.Applicants must be proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Outlook is used daily.
