Job SummaryKennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, tenure track faculty position as Assistant Professor of Cell Biology in the Department of Molecular and Cellular Biology with a preferred start date of August 2025. This is a nine-month contracted position. This position is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.
Responsibilities
Perform research in the area of cell biology that engages undergraduate and graduate students
Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals appropriate to the field of cell biology
Establish an extramurally funded research program
Teach biology courses, including lectures and/or laboratory sections
Contribute to graduate teaching, as needed
Participate in professional service within the Department, the College of Science and Mathematics, the University and beyond
Teaching assignments will be based on earned degrees and SACSCOC Faculty Credentials Guidelines.
Required Qualifications
A Terminal/Doctorate degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Biology, Cell Biology or a related discipline
A record of peer-reviewed publications and/or preprints appropriate to the field of cell biology
Postdoctoral research experience in cell biology
Preferred Qualifications
Postdoctoral research experience in neurobiology or cancer biology
Research involving non-mammalian model organisms is strongly encouraged
Evidence of current or previous external funding
A record of publishing research in neurobiology or cancer biology
Previous experience with undergraduate and/or graduate student teaching
Previous experience mentoring students
