Primary Purpose of PositionThe Department of Applied Engineering Technology (AET) invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, non-tenure-track lecture/senior lecturer or teaching assistant/associate professor position in computer graphics technology. An appointment at the teaching full professor level may be considered for exceptionally qualified applicants. The initial appointment of the position is two years, and it is eligible for renewal, starting in August 2025.
The successful applicant will be expected to show commitment to teaching excellence. She/he is expected to engage in culturally responsive teaching, teach computer graphics technology (CGT) courses, develop courses and curricula, advise and mentor CGT majors, and provide service to the University and community. Promoting the mission of the Applied Engineering Technology Department and the strategic vision of the College of Science and Technology (COST) as well as the University is highly desired. Collaboration with colleagues from the sciences, mathematics, and technology areas is encouraged.

Primary Function of Organizational Unit
N.C. A&T is a public, land-grant, doctoral research institution and has been the largest historically Black university in the country for the past decade. The College of Science and Technology enrolls over 2290 students. It is a national leader that serves and engages the citizens of the state of North Carolina, the nation, and the world through preeminence in science and technology education, research, discovery, and innovation. The College houses the departments of Applied Engineering Technology, Biology, Built Environment, Chemistry, Computer Systems Technology, Mathematics and Statistics, Physics, and the Ph.D. Program of Applied Science Technology. The College is experiencing substantial growth in enrollment, faculty size, curricula, and research.
The Department of Applied Engineering Technology (AET) enrolls about 400 undergraduate and graduate majors. The Department offers five degree programs: a BS in Applied Engineering Technology, a BS in Automotive Engineering Technology, a BS in Computer Graphics Technology, a MS in Technology Management, and a PhD in Applied Science and Technology. The BS in Applied Engineering Technology is accredited by ABET, and plans are underway to seek ABET accreditation for the other two programs. Minimum Requirements
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in user experience, interactive web design, interactive media, or a closely related design technology field.
Preferred Years Experience, Skills, Training, Education
Highly preferred candidates will have a PhD in a closely related field, industry experience in user experience development, and teaching experience in an accredited program.
