Job Description
The newly established Center for Energy and Environmental Solutions (CEES) on the campus of South Carolina State University is seeking to hire an Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III. The Accountant/Fiscal Analyst III will work full-time and play a vital role in overseeing the financial administration, budgeting, purchasing, payment of POs, research equipment/material ordering, and all financial-related matters. The ideal candidate will work closely with program researchers in the CEES to support their research needs and effective appropriation/grant management from application through all stages to the post-award process. The accountant/financial analyst III will lead in the reporting of progress and financial reports to all stakeholders and funding agencies.Minimum Requirements for Entry into Position:
A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business, or a related field and professional experience directly related to the above job description to include industry-standard accounting, auditing, finance, or forecasting methods.
Preferred Requirements for Entry into Position:
Knowledge of the principles, practices, theories and terminology of accounting, banking, budgeting, financial management or investment. Knowledge of state government fiscal accounting processes. Knowledge of industry-standard financial systems. Ability to proficiently apply Excel spreadsheet computing concepts. Ability to analyze and interpret comprehensive financial/budgeting data and reports. Ability to plan, organize, review, and forecast all CEES spending and planned spending. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all team members in the CEES. Ability to communicate (i.e., written, verbally, PowerPoint Presentations, and others).
