Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the AVP for Student Affairs/Director of HRL in implementing the strategic direction for all aspects of the day-to-day project management of the business operations in Housing and Residence Life specifically in the areas of occupancy management, marketing strategy, communications, technology, and information systems within Housing and Residence Life.
- Provide oversight and supervision for the business operations team consisting of a senior assistant director, assistant director, occupancy/housing contract specialists, and systems specialists including the recruitment, selection, coaching, performance appraisals, and training of personnel in business operations.
- In collaboration with the AVP, develop long-term strategies for occupancy management and space allocation that meets current and future housing needs. Identify innovative income strategies. This includes successfully utilizing data in forecasting of occupancy trends for traditional halls and university apartments.
- Collaborate with the AVP/Director of Housing and Residence Life in developing inclusive residential learning communities. This position must demonstrate an effort to understand their individual and collective role in creating environments that (1) identify and remove barriers that adversely impact the student experience and success; (2) facilitate student learning, (3) cultivate community, and (4) empower both the team and our students.
- Collaborate with members of the Housing and Residence Life team to develop and implement student-centered and guest-centered policies, procedures, contracts, and leases, while leading the creation and maintenance of clear, comprehensive documentation for all Housing and Residence Life systems.
- Provide oversight of a comprehensive marketing and public relation plan including print, web, social media, and in-person strategies that support departmental and university goals.
- Provide oversight of all departmental information systems and technology that supports the work of the team including StarRez, the work order system, card access, staff and residential facility technology support.
- Provide oversight of summer and break operations and work collaboratively with University Dining, Orientation, Student Life and other campus partners for summer operations including conference services, orientation, and early start program housing needs.
- Work collaboratively with campus partners including Enrollment and Planning Management, Disability Services, Athletics, and University Dining to develop processes and data reports to support the work of Housing and Residence Life and the university.
- Serve on the executive leadership team and represent the AVP/Director of Housing and Residence Life in departmental and university committees as needed.
- Serve on an on-call leadership duty rotations.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Provide strategic oversight of the housing management system, StarRez, through prioritizing projects based on departmental and operational needs as well as the University's academic calendar. Ensure the system supports data accessibility, accuracy, and usability.
