The Associate Director, Student Success (Employer Engagement) leads the Employer Engagement team and is responsible for developing and executing strategies to build and sustain industry partnerships to expand employment opportunities for students across internships, university employment, and entry-level jobs post-graduation. This position provides supervision and guidance to the department and monitors performance evaluations to ensure effective employer-student engagement. The Associate Director’s key responsibilities include planning and executing 8-12 career fairs annually, achieving departmental revenue targets, and fostering relationships with both existing and prospective employers. A crucial aspect of the position involves integrating recruitment technology, specifically Symplicity, including system administration, data tracking, and reporting to enhance operational effectiveness. This position requires active involvement in assessment processes, career readiness program development in collaboration with career coaches, and represents the Career Center on essential campus committees, contributing to the broader goals of the department.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
Provides visionary leadership to the Employer Engagement team, including the Employer Engagement Coordinator, the Student Employment Coordinator, the department’s graduate assistant, and the department’s intern to foster a high-performance culture; conducts regular team meetings, one-on-one meetings, and comprehensive performance evaluations
Collaborates with UCC senior leadership, including the Director and Associate Director for Student Engagement, to set and drive strategic objectives, departmental goals, and measurable outcomes
Leads collaboration amongst faculty and academic units to maximize the effectiveness of recruitment software for internship postings and monitoring of student learning outcomes, aligning recruitment strategies with university goals
Develops, implements, and tracks assessment initiatives aligned with departmental assessment plans and SACSCOC standards to ensure continuous improvement
Champions recruitment activities across campus, fostering strong engagement with students, faculty, and employers to build a robust pipeline of opportunities
Acts as the UCC representative on key committees, such as the Symplicity Joint Operations Committee, Student Affairs Assessment Committee, and First Destination Survey Committee, contributing valuable insights to campus-wide initiative
Employer Engagement and Strategy
Serves as primary contact for employers recruiting talent from the university, while managing referrals to other career centers as necessary
Designs and enforces equitable recruiting policies, ensuring broad access to career fairs and job and internship postings for all students
Strategically plans, executes, and manages 8-12 high-impact career fairs annually, encompassing a variety of student employment opportunities, internships, and entry-level jobs, as well as opportunities for graduate and professional school admission
Cultivates relationships with current and potential employer partners to ensure year-round engagement and participation in career fairs and other recruitment activities
Drives new employer relationships, especially with those not currently engaged with the UCC, by identifying and capitalizing on untapped opportunities in the market
Organizes employer-hosted site visits for faculty and staff to enrich industry knowledge and highlight career opportunities, strengthening the connection between academics and industries
Represents the university at local, regional, and national events, elevating the institution’s visibility and strengthening employer engagement
Technology Implementation and Utilization
Serves as primary lead for the implementation and optimization of Symplicity recruitment software, ensuring seamless integration with UCC operations, comprehensive cross-training, and effective troubleshooting. Stays abreast of technical updates and advocates necessary product enhancements to vendor
Supervises frontline employer support using recruitment software, while continuously enhancing the user experience and system efficiency
Leverages recruitment software data to generate advanced Excel reports for assessments, departmental goals, and comprehensive annual reports
Supervises creation of marketing and instructional materials to promote software utilization, facilitating employer engagement and student accessibility
Evaluates current and emerging technologies to continuously improve UCC offerings
Partners with Financial Aid to ensure accurate posting of federal work study positions on the recruitment platform, maintaining compliance with federal regulations
Compiles and analyzes data for the annual Fiscal Operations Report and Application to Participate (FISAP) in support of Job Location and Development (JLD) funding
Produces, analyzes, and reviews all data needed for UCC Annual Report and Dean of Student’s Annual Reports
Career and Educational Programs
Conducts impactful educational programming in collaboration with career coaches to increase student, staff, and faculty awareness and knowledge with career readiness, career fairs, mock interviews, and professional development
Provides supplemental career coaching support during peak times and in the case of staffing gaps, ensuring continuity in student services
Acts as a resource for career coaches, helping them identify and connect with employer partners for guest panels and other programming, bridging career education with industry insight
Preferred Qualifications
Master's degree in counseling, student development, business administration, or higher education administration
Five years of progressive responsibility advising/coaching, employment recruitment, and supervising staff
Direct experience in establishing processes in campus recruitment software (Symplicity, Handshake, GradLeaders, or 12Twenty).
Advanced level of proficiency in Excel
