What Your Job Will Be Like:
We are seeking a Fire Alarm Tradesperson
On any given day, you may be called on to:
- Inspect, test, maintain, install, modify, and repair Fire Alarm Systems
- Trouble-shoot Fire Alarm Systems during standard and non-standard hours to include weekends.
- Be able/available to work overtime on an as needed basis and be on-call.
- Support acceptance testing of Fire Alarm Systems.
- Support impairments of Fire Alarm Systems.
- As a condition of employment, Metal Trades positions are represented by the Metal Trades Council (MTC) and represented employees must pay the monthly membership dues or agency fee.
Qualifications We Require:
- Experience with Inspection, Testing and Maintenance of Fire Alarm Systems.
- Knowledge and experience installing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Fire Alarm Systems.
- Diagnose and correct malfunctions in Fire Alarm systems, circuits, and components.
- The successful candidate must be able to work either independently or as a member of a team.
- Leadership skills and good communication skills (written and verbal).
- Punctuality and a solid attendance record
Qualifications We Desire:
- Completion of a 4-year State approved electrical apprenticeship program or equivalent.
- Typical experience includes minimum of 3-5 years as a fully qualified Electrical Tradesperson and capability of obtaining a journeyman's license.
- NICET Certification in Fire Alarm Systems.
- Knowledge of NFPA72.

Fire Alarm Maintenance - Department 4742 is responsible for the maintenance and operation of SNL/NM's infrastructure and buildings systems.Department 47421 falls within this department and is responsible for the maintenance of the fire alarm systems located in each of the SNL/NM facilities.

Security Clearance:
Sandia is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, law enforcement records, and employment/education verifications. NNSA Requirements for MedPEDs:
If you have a Medical Portable Electronic Device (MedPED), such as a pacemaker, defibrillator, drug-releasing pump, hearing aids, or diagnostic equipment and other equipment for measuring, monitoring, and recording body functions such as heartbeat and brain waves, if employed by Sandia National Laboratories you may be required to comply with NNSA security requirements for MedPEDs.
If you have a MedPED and you are selected for an on-site interview at Sandia National Laboratories, there may be additional steps necessary to ensure compliance with NNSA security requirements prior to the interview date.
