Ideal Candidate Statement
The ideal candidate will:
Possess lab skills for setting up, troubleshooting, and maintaining engineering and physics labs.
Be a team player with technical proficiency in lab setups.
Have working knowledge of physics and engineering principles, and skills in machining, electronics, and instrumentation repair.
Be familiar with lab equipment (e.g., multi-meters, oscilloscopes, 3D printers, drones, power supplies).
Have experience in computer-data acquisition interface and software.
Be able to construct simple lab fixtures and rigs.
Conduct equipment checks and manage service requests.
Ensure safe and organized storage of lab equipment.
Possess excellent documentation and communication skills.
Stay updated on new lab exercises and technologies.
Position Description
Supports science courses by preparing and maintaining labs, equipment, and materials, including hazardous waste management.
Duties and Responsibilities
Prepare solutions, equipment, and materials for lab demonstrations and exercises.
Monitor and maintain lab cleanliness and safety.
Store and dispose of hazardous materials.
Perform equipment repairs and calibrations.
Maintain inventory and records.
Provide direction to unclassified staff.
Support budget management for lab supplies.
Collaborate with faculty on lab safety and activities.
Ensure sensitivity and respect for diverse backgrounds in all interactions.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Familiarity with common lab equipment and specimens.
Procedures for handling hazardous materials.
General office software proficiency.
Ability to maintain lab safety and organization.
Effective communication and prioritization skills.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in science or a related field and two years of lab experience.
Understanding of diverse student needs and equity practices.
Physical Characteristics
Physical abilities to work in lab environments with chemicals and equipment.
