College/Department Information
The Augusta University School of Public Health was established in 2023 to address Georgia's distinct public health challenges through exceptional education, innovative research, and collaborative community engagement. We are leveraging the strengths of Georgia's only public academic medical center, combining public health expertise with clinical knowledge to train future public health leaders. Our school is comprised of three academic departments: Biostatistics, Epidemiology & Data Science, Community & Behavioral Health Sciences, and Health Management, Economics & Policy. We offer a variety of degree programs, from specialized master's options to doctoral programs that create the next generation of public health researchers. Our research mission is critical to our long-term impact; we strongly emphasize scholarly productivity through peer-reviewed publications, scientific presentations, and grant-funded projects. Annually, we attract more than $6M in extramural funding.
Job Summary
To provide support in the daily operations of the new School of Public Health and its expanding faculty and staff. This position supports the Business Manager and the Director of Administration and Finance.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
TIME APPROVER: Approver for TimeNet functions pertaining to faculty, staff, students and yearly summer scholars. Providing daily assistance to faculty and staff on the usage of the system and the maintenance of their time and leave.
EVENTS: Manage the coordination of unit events by securing appropriate meeting space, catering and facilitating room setup with the Classroom Services Department.
EQUIPMENT: Responsible for the research and purchase of equipment. Responsible for facility management including but not limited to overseeing common equipment installation and/or repairs, handling maintenance requests.
SOFTWARE: Manages the research and purchase of software for the faculty and staff as requested.
EQUIPMENT/PROPERTY INVENTORY: Manage the SPH equipment inventory and provide required annual reports to procurement.
FUNDS DISBURSEMENT: Management of departmental faculty, research and foundation accounts including verification and appropriateness for travel, check requests, requisitioning, and p-card.
INTERDEPARTMENTAL REQUESTS: Oversee interdepartmental requests for services provided to the department.
NEW HIRES: Ensure new employees are setup with appropriate software access, badge access, and key assignments.
OTHER: Perform all other related duties/tasks as assigned and assist in assuring continuity of administrative support within the School of Public Health.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or a related discipline from an accredited college or university and one year administrative and/or management experience
OR
Associates degree from an accredited college or university and two years of relevant experience
OR
High School diploma GED, or equivalent from a recognized State or Federal accrediting organization and three years administrative and fiscal management experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing financial resources.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
SKILLS
Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills. Detail-oriented with strong accounting, management and organization skills.
ABILITIES
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required).
Salary Range: $52,500 - $65,600 annually
Pay Band: B10
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position.

Conditions of Employment
