The Department of Anesthesiology at City of Hope National Medical Center is seeking a physician to join our nationally recognized team of medical, surgical, and radiation cancer specialists as a full-time clinician and meet the needs of our growing program on the Irvine campus.

This position is a rare opportunity to work in a 500+ member integrated, multidisciplinary Medical Group Practice serving an NCI designated comprehensive cancer center in highly desirable Southern California, within our established Department of Anesthesiology. City of Hope is an expanding institution in both numbers of patients per year as well as infrastructure investment in clinical, academic and research facilities. This is a timely recruitment, and we will begin interviewing immediately.

  • Department currently includes Physicians and CRNAs
  • Effort allocation: 95% Clinical
  • About 50% / 50% supervision vs independent

    • State-of-the-art facilities: 73 bed hospital, 4 operating room suites, 8 bed ICU
  • No in house call
  • No cardiac, no trauma, no OB. Minimal peds cases

PAY & BENEFITS

Total Compensation:$440K - $510K

Our cancer center offers access to experts with unparalleled expertise in breast, prostate, lung, blood, gastrointestinal and gynecological cancers, and more.
In 2025, City of Hope will open Orange County’s only specialty cancer hospital. This six-story hospital will be seamlessly connected to City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center. By opening the new hospital – City of Hope’s second academic hospital in California – we are fulfilling our promise to Orange County and completing the continuum of
care for people with cancer.
The spectacular capstone to our 11-acre City of Hope Orange County campus is the largest new construction dedicated to cancer
care in the Western United States. Where other hospitals must serve the full spectrum of health conditions in our community, every team member at this specialty cancer hospital—from the nurses to nutritionists to physicians – will have a core focus on oncology.

  • Academic record consistent with appointment as Assistant Clinical Professor, Associate Clinical Professor, or Clinical Professor level at City of Hope National Medical Center
  • The selected candidate for the position must be eligible to obtain or already hold an active California medical license
  • American Board of Anesthesiology board eligibility/certification

The estimated pay scale represents the typical [salary/hourly] range City of Hope reasonably expects to pay for this position, with offers determined based on several factors which may include, but not be limited to, the candidate’s experience, expertise, skills, education, job scope, training, internal equity, geography/market, etc. This pay scale is subject to change from time to time.
