Job Summary
The Gift & Estate Planning Coordinator Position reports directly to the AVP for Gift & Estate Planning and is responsible for creating, maintaining and executing a robust communications plan in support of Gift & Estate Planning. This includes collaborating with internal and external partners on our communications pieces and working closely with the AVP for Gift & Estate Planning to build and grow a Legacy Advisor Network. This position will also be responsible for developing, maintaining and executing a strategic stewardship plan for our Harrison Society members, those individuals who have documented a planned gift to benefit Augusta University. In addition to these essential duties this position will play a key role in the development of training materials for our fundraising colleagues and act as a trusted partner to provide key information on gift & estate planning to both internal and external constituents. Excellent communications skills and exceptional experience in developing communications on multiple platforms is essential to this role.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
GIFT & ESTATE PLANNING COMMUNICATIONS SUPPORT: Develop and maintain a roster of professional advisors ( CPAs, Estate Planning Attorneys, Financial Advisors, Insurance Brokers & Bankers) and prepare regular and consistent communications across multiple platforms with these individuals about Augusta University to build & grow a Legacy Advisor Network. This position will also work closely with our external communications partner, the Stelter Company, to ensure that our donor stories and deliverables are accurate, approved and ready for publication. These communications will be developed in collaboration with our Director of Communications to follow all processes and guidelines and include existing stories sourced from across campus. Works closely with the AVP for Gift & Estate Planning in cultivating and stewarding the professional advisor network, an essential referral group for planned gifts, and provides excellent customer service on behalf of our university to these individuals. Expectation is to be a member of the Augusta Area Estate Planning Council and participate in the Georgia Planned Giving Council in Atlanta.
HARRISON SOCIETY COORDINATOR: Develop and execute a comprehensive stewardship plan for all Harrison Society members to ensure each member experiences general and personalized engagement and deeper connections with Augusta University; promotes strategic, donor focused stewardship by ensuring compelling correspondence, and strategic touchpoints for Harrison Society members and their families are executed in collaboration with other Alumni Relations, Annual & Major Giving and Donor Engagement & Stewardship areas. Examples include ensuring that Harrison Society members are included on strategic invitations to university-wide and donor specific events, and Harrison Society specific recognitions are created and executed (Valentines Day recognition for on-campus Harrison Society members, etc)
TRAINING, WEBINAR AND PRESENTATION SUPPORT: Develop power point presentations, training materials and scheduling support for the AVP of Gift & Estate Planning. Must have strong skills in creating engaging presentation materials and communications. Supports gift officers in need of gift planning brochures - both print & electronic, and gift planning documentation materials as well as providing confirmation of planned gift processing.
AVP SUPPORT AND GENERAL PLANNED GIVING SUPPORT: Maintain accurate lists and reporting documents for planned giving in collaboration with IDS and Prospect Management & Research. Ensure effective and efficient operations for planned giving and suggest solutions to streamline processes and effective communications internally. Assists with confidential donor correspondence and serves as a back-up for the administrative assistant II.
OTHER: Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in business, communication, professional writing, journalism, political science or a related field is required with a minimum of three years of demonstrated experience in professional writing, database management, donor engagement, fundraising, or financial planning.
Preferred Qualifications
Previous professional experience in higher education, academic settings, or nonprofit organizations.
A strong background in professional writing, correspondence on multiple platforms including crafting polished and impactful communications and presentations.
Demonstrated success in developing detailed and precise professional communications using data across multiple
platforms.

Shift/Salary/Benefits
Shift: Days; Monday - Friday (Work outside of normal business hours may be required)
Salary Range: $45,400/annually - $56,700/annually
Pay Band: B8
Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum-midpoint) of the position
