Departmental Objective
Process financial transactions in accordance with State and University policies procedures.
Purpose of the Position
This position is responsible for supervising accounts payable staff and processing specific accounting transactions and controlling input into the Commonwealth Accounting System (Cardinal) and the University’s Accounting system (SCT Banner).
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Related to Position
Knowledge of accounting principles and procedures
Knowledge of automated accounting systems
Excellent verbal and written skills
Ability to interpret and analyze fiscal transactions for conformity with Federal, State and University policies and procedures
Ability to research, analyze and reconcile financial data
Education, Experience, Licensure, Certification Required
Education:
High school graduate or equivalent education/experience that equates to a high school diploma.
Experience:
Experience in an accounts payable office.
Experience using automated accounting systems.
Experience reconciling financial reports with financial records and making correcting entries in an automated accounting system.
Experience working with internal and external customers to discuss financial processes or issues.
Experience applying and interpreting policies and procedures and making recommendations and/or decisions.
Supervisory experience.
Experience with word processing and spreadsheet applications.
Additional Consideration(s)
Education:
Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with concentration in Accounting or high school diploma or equivalent with combination of training and experience that equates to the degree requirement.
Experience:
Experience with Banner system.
Experience with Cardinal system.
Experience with Commonwealth Accounting Policies and Procedures Manual (CAPP).
Salary Information Starting at $57,254, Commensurate with Education and Experience
